About

I received a Ph.D. in computer science from the Federal University of ABC, Brazil (2023). I also obtained a master’s degree in instrumentation and control at the Central University of Venezuela (2018) and a degree in Physics at the University of Carabobo, Venezuela (2012). Additionally, I am a musician, focused mainly on contemporary musical composition.

My research interests are acoustics, digital signal processing, machine learning, musical computing, the study of timbre and its technological applications.

My work focuses mainly on the study and characterization of musical timbre, timbral quality, and the quantification of the concept of loudness, applying Artificial Intelligence tools.

Participations in scientific conferences

I have participated in different national and international conferences in the areas of musical computing, physics, and acoustics, among others.

One of the most recent conferences was the ‘Forum Acusticum’ 2023, in the city of Turin where I presented a work on acoustic characterization of musical timbre through FFT-Acoustic descriptors.

I have had the opportunity to show my research work in countries such as Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Spain, and Italy, among others. Many of them are published in important international scientific journals.

Musical activities

I began my musical studies at the age of 5, I played as a flutist and piano as a complementary instrument. At the age of 19, I began my studies in musical composition, which is one of my most important passions.

During my stage of musical teaching, I had the opportunity to transmit my knowledge to children, young people, and adults belonging to the System of Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela, where I worked for 13 years teaching: musical language, harmony, piano initiation and recorder. I was the founder of the chamber music group ‘Le Fénix Consort’, in addition to being co-founder of the contemporary music meeting of Aragua (Venezuela), which is an important space for the interpretation of contemporary music in the country.
